South Buffalo Brownfield Opportunity Area Plan

In accordance with the provisions of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), the City of Buffalo Common Council has assumed the role of lead agency for the South Buffalo Brownfield Opportunity Area Plan Adoption and Implementation (Proposed Action).  On March 18, 2008, the Common Council also determined that the project may generate significant environmental impacts and, as a result, a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) must be prepared.  As a result of this determination, the Common Council issued a Positive Declaration/Notice of Public Scoping Meeting.

In accordance with SEQRA, the Common Council is initiating a process to define the scope of the DGEIS.  As a first step in that process, a Draft Scoping Document for the DGEIS has been prepared and is attached for your review and comment.  A public scoping meeting will be held on April 9, 2008, at 5:00 PM, in Common Council Chambers (13th Floor, City Hall), and written comments from agencies and the public are requested by April 21, 2008.  Upon receipt of agency and public comments on the Draft Scoping Document, a Final Scoping Document will be prepared. Prior to commenting for the first time, you will be required to register in the top left-hand corner.
